Al-Qaeda suspect Abu Anas al-Liby is expected to face charges in a New York court on Tuesday.
He has been on the FBI's most wanted list for more than a decade.
They accuse him of being a senior al-Qaeda figure and of involvement in the 1998 bombings of US embassies in East Africa. A criminal indictment was filed against him by a New York grand jury in 2000.
