Tom Hanks opens London Film Festival

Double Oscar winner Tom Hanks kicked the London Film Festival off in style.

His new movie 'Captain Phillips' was chosen to open the 12 day event.

Hanks stars as Captain Phillips - the captain who volunteered as a hostage to save the lives of his crew from Somali pirates.

It's a true story, and Hanks took time to meet the man he plays:

''I could have...anybody could have played this just based on the source material of his book and the screenplay but he was right there and he was willing to put up with me.
