Turkey downs Syrian chopper

Turkey's government says its warplanes shot down a Syrian Mi-17 helicopter near this village.

The aircraft was brought down with a missile, causing it to crash land on the Syrian side of the border.

Turkey's foreign minister said the crew had been warned that they were violating Turkish airspace.

This afternoon around 14:30-14:45 (11:30-11:45 GMT), a Syrian aircraft entered Turkish territory. As soon as it entered, it received a warning.
