Australian police recover a body from a precarious cliff in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.

Officers abseiled down the face to reach the remains.

It's believed the body could be that of 23-year-old Gary Tweddle who went missing in mid-July.

Media reports say he phoned friends to say he was lost after wandering off at night during a work conference.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) BLUE MOUNTAINS POLICE SUPERINTENDENT DARRYL JOBSON SAYING:

"The deceased, I'm told, is similar in appearance to Gary Tweddle. It may possibly be him but we're not ruling out anything else."

Local reports say the body was spotted by an air ambulance crew on a training exercise.
