Actor John Abraham who is taking Akshay Kumar's role for the sequel of "Welcome". Shruti Hassan is doing opposite to John in this movie. At the time of mahurat of "Welcome Back" John told reporters that he was so happy to be part of this movie and also he enjoyed watching "Welcome". After signing for the film the first person he called was Akshay.
Director Anees Bazmee said, John is playing the lead in "Welcome Back". But he is not stepping into Akshay's role...We have created a new role for him. While Nana and Anil will reprise the roles of Uday and Majnu". In Welcome Akshay playing the innocent guy who falls in love with underworld don's sister. But the sequel will see John in a completely different role. John Abraham is happy to be part of this successful franchise and also excited to team up with the actors like Paresh, Nana and Anil. He has worked with all three in different projects.
