Behind The scenes - Mark Webber on Top Gear (2013)

'It’s not very often that F1 stars pop down to our pokey track just outside Guildford. It’s so rare in fact that our loyal Suzuki Liana hadn’t been used since last summer when Lewis Hamilton had a go. But we dusted the old girl down to let Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber have his first ever dry lap to try and beat Lewis’ headline time.

Being an F1 driver, Mark didn’t need to have his hand held by the Stig. In fact, the Stig didn’t really say anything, which Mark conceded was ‘frustrating’. Still, after sniffing out some new tarmac, determining what gear to be in and seeing how much speed he could take into the second-to-last corner, Mark was very quick. And kept getting quicker. And more competitive. Shame he wasn’t impressed with Stig’s social skills, though.'
