Chip Wilson has been performing since his childhood, playing his first nightclub
engagements in his teenage years. He has gone on to be a guitarmaker, writer and
representative of New Orleans music, playing in the United States, Europe and South
America. His dynamic solo guitar playing, expressive singing voice and songwriting
has earned him recognition as one of the most sought after New Orleans musicians,
evidenced by his longtime schedule of 300 to 400 engagements per year in his adopted
town. Chip has performed at leading festivals such as the Umbria Jazz Festival and
the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. His CD A Jumpin' Somethin' got a 2000
Offbeat Magazine "Best Of The Beat" nomination, and he was nominated for Best
Country/Folk Singer Songwriter "Best Of The Beat" Award in 2012. His CD "Side
By Side" with Jesse Moore was named as a Top 9 CD in 2010. Chip Wilson writes for
internationally distributed publication Vintage Guitar Magazine.
Chip has been described as "a humble master" (Marc Stone, Offbeat, New Orleans),
and "the real deal" (Scott Jordan, Gambit Weekly, New Orleans). Louisiana author and
