Main Hoon Shahid Afridi Inspired By Indian Films

As Bhaag Milkha Bhaag leaves audience in India spellbound with its portrayal of a sporting icon, Pakistan is eagerly awaiting the release of 'Main Hoon Shahid Afridi', one of its first movies on sports. Actor-producer Humayun Saeed revealed that his attempt at a film on sports is ought to be the first film of this genre, in Pakistan. By further revelation we learnt that the film is not a biopic but a story revolving around cricket, a young cricketer who wishes to become Shahid Afridi and finally towards the end, the team emerging as the winner, despite all the odds. Well, one would notice that unlike Pakistan, India has already produced several movies on sports and Main Hoon Shahid Afridi could mark the beginning of such movies in Pakistan. Reportedly cricketer Shahid Afridi was also to make his debut in acting but he is believed to have refused the offer and will star as a small entrant, in this film.

The movie is scheduled to release on Eid in Pakistan whereas in India it will be released 8-10 days later.
