Japan welcomes British royal birth

Although thousands of miles away, Japan was celebrating the birth of Britain's royal baby boy.

In Japan's Madame Tussauds, visitors born on July 22 , the same day as the royal birth, get in - free of charge.

And in the suburbs of Tokyo, one therapist had an unusual tip for the royal new mom.

(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) ROYAL BABY MASSAGE INSTRUCTOR HIROMI KUSAKA, SAYING:

"It's really hard to raise a child normally surrounded by the pressured atmosphere of a royal family. But if Kate can build a deep connection with her child with baby massages, then she'll be able to really enjoy motherhood and feel the joy of seeing her baby grow."

The new-born royal is bound to be the subject of intense media scrutiny throughout his life as his parents, Prince William and his wife Kate, are global stars after some 2 billion people tuned in to watch their glittering marriage ceremony.
