Dive into Butlins past

Watch our video taking you on a journey of summer days by the swimming pools from past to present

As Butlins announce the opening of their new Splash Waterworld in Skegness, we are taking a look back in time at all the good old fashion fun spent by the pool.

While our children’s lives may appear vastly different to those who visited when Sir Billy Butlin first opened the park in 1936, the joy of jumping into a swimming pool will always be the same.

The new waterpark will include new slides, a "lazy river", a tots pool, rope tunnels, wave and whirl pools, a DJ booth and a 28m (93ft) flume tower.

Butlins are encouraging parents to remember their own cherish memories and to help create new ones for their children.
