A woman was freed by firefighters after becoming wedged between two walls for seven hours in east China's Anhui province, state media reported on Tuesday (July 16).

The woman took a shortcut through a narrow gap between two walls to get home at around 10 p.m. local time (1400 GMT) on Saturday (July 13) when she got stuck, state television CCTV said.

The woman, whom CCTV did not identify, was only spotted by passers-by at around 5 a.m. (2100 GMT) the next morning, it added.

Firefighters were called to the scene, and had to knock down part of one of the walls to allow her to be pulled out, CCTV said.

The rescue operation took about 20 minutes, it added.

CCTV did not report on the woman's condition.
