Taiwan battens down the hatches for Typhoon Soulik

Waves crashing into Taiwan's northern coastline have acted as an early warning sign that Typhoon Soulik is on its way. The storm is scheduled to hit the area on Friday afternoon.

Forecasters said the typhoon had weakened overnight but the winds were still peaking at 173 kilometres per hour.
