Randy Travis has stroke, Mendes back for Bond

Randy Travis suffered a medical setback, having emergency surgery after suffering a stroke. Travis is currently recovering from the surgery, but is still listed in critical condition. The country singer was in a Texas hospital when the stroke hit; he was admitted earlier this week for a viral illness that led to congestive heart failure.

Sam Mendes has signed on to direct the next James Bond film. Mendes directed the last Bond film, "Skyfall," which went on to earn more than 1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. The next movie - which will be the 24th in the franchise - is set for release in the fall of 2015.

Finally, Jay-Z performed for six hours straight at a gallery in New York on Wednesday (July 10). The rapper sang the track "Picasso Baby" from his new album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail." The whole event was reportedly being filmed for an upcoming music video.
