The album sold over two million copies in the process. The parent album "Superfly" contained two gold certified tracks according to RIAA (Record Industry Association of America ) which were "Superfly" and "Freddie's Dead", both sold over one million copies each in the United States.
Music industry trade publications such as Billboard Magazine and Cash Box reported that the "Superfly" album grossed over $20 million for the music industry.
