Disaster strikes Yamunotri

Apart from the loss of human lives, the extent of damage to infrastructure in Uttarakhand is very acute. On route to Yamunotri, a large part of Kheradi village has been wiped out. The hotels built on the road have been washed away. The distraught residents are now blaming a nearby hydel power plant for causing a bend in the river.
