The Lone Ranger begins his ride to cinemas

He may have turned 50 a couple of weeks ago, but Johnny Depp still looked in his prime for the launch of 'The Lone Ranger', which is promoting itself as similar ilk as 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.

The movie tells the classic story of the masked character, who has been an icon of American culture since the story was first told on radio in 1933.

However, there's a twist in that this time, the story is told through the eyes of his sidekick Tonto, played by Johnny Depp.
