There was also a role for comedy in resisting the inhumanity of apartheid. This is a demonstration of that with the comic Pieter-Dirk Uys, who also contributed to preparing the ground for Nelson Mandela’s triumph, by his ability to crack open inhumanity while preserving humanity.
