An eight-year-old girl was rescued on Saturday (June 22) after she got her head stuck between the security bars of her sixth storey apartment balcony in Wenzhou city of eastern China's Zhejiang province, state media reported.
State television CCTV broadcast images of the girl trying to hold her body up by grasping two bars with her hands and resting one of her feet on a supporting bar underneath.
A neighbour from one storey below tried to reach her but failed, so he called firefighters for help, according to CCTV.
Rescuers broke down the door of her apartment, and pulled the girl to safety, it added.
The girl, who had been left home alone, climbed onto the security bars to see what had happened after she heard a strange noise from downstairs, CCTV said, without providing information on the girl's condition.
