Suicide bomber targets coffee shop killing five

Residents in a Shi'ite district of eastern Baghdad surveyed the damage after a suicide blast killed five people in a coffee shop on Sunday night.

It happened around 9 in the evening, witnesses said.

The attack was just one of many across the country on Sunday that targeted mainly Shi'ite Muslims. At least 30 people were killed.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks but Sunni Islamist insurgents and al Qaeda's Iraqi branch have increased their activities this year hoping to provoke wider confrontation between Sunnis and Shi'ites.
