Joey Ryan has spent the last 10 months working on his Indie label Début, having recently signed to Silverwood Records, who are launching in September 2012 to coincide with Joey's new album.
This album is the result of two years of touring off the back of a home recorded album, Dusk, (4/5, Hotpress) released in early 2010 with some of the most respected musicians in their fields, including Mick Flannery, Jack L, Hayseed Dixie, Mark Geary, Tucan, C.W Stoneking, and John Spillane, culminating in two headline UK tours summer 2010 and 2011, and a 12 date tour of Ireland November 2010, and a 7 date co-headline tour in October 2011 with the Man Whom and Stephen Young and the Union.
With this new album Joey has left behind his former self to embrace all aspects of the music he loved from an early age to his major influences such as Waits, Metallica and Springsteen.
Produced by Gavin Ralston, and featuring Clodagh Kearney, Rory McCarthy, and Johnny Boyle and Aonghus Ralston of the Frames and Sharron Shannon, the album will be released in September 2012 and a nationwide Irish and UK tour will follow.
