Drivers in central Bolivia are struggling in freezing conditions.

At least ten people are thought to have died as extreme cold grips parts of the country.

Roads are closed due to freezing fog and truckers and other travellers found themselves trapped.

Schoolchildren attend classes in freezing temperatures but many have fallen ill as a flu epidemic sweeps the country.

"Yes, a lot of children asked for permission for health issues related to the flu, coughs, colds and they were given permission to go see a doctor at health centres and hospitals."

Freezing conditions are expected to continue into July.
