Beijing remains tight-lipped on Snowden

Officials in Beijing are distancing themselves from the issue of National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden
During a regular foreign ministry briefing on Thursday, the spokesperson told reporters, sorry, but we have no information on this right now.

He said he plans to let the people and authorities of Hong Kong decide his fate. And for now, at least, they appear to support him. A small rally sprung up in front of the U.S. consulate with demonstrators holding signs calling for Snowden to be allowed to remain at liberty.
A larger march in Snowden's hounor is planned for this weekend.
