Chaloos, Namak Abrood, Iran(P-2) 4.4.2013
Chalous is a coastal city of Mazandaran Province, Iran located on the shores of Caspian Sea. It is about 180 km north of Tehran. There is a beautiful highway between Tehran and Chaloos passing through the Alborz mountains.
Chaloos has got a beautiful touristic resort at Namak-Aabrood village about 10 km away which has two aerial tramways (called telecabin in Iran). It starts at the sea level near the shores of the Caspian Sea and ends on the top of the Alborz heights crossing dense forest area of northern Iran. Two types of Cabins travel on wires to two different routes and different tops of Alborz Mountain. Line 1 with red cabins goes to Madoban Forest Top at a height of 1050 meters. The one way distance of this line is 1025 meters and time is 13 minutes. Line 2 with black cabins goes to Dev Hamam Forest Top at a height of 650 meters. The one way distance of this line is 850 meters and time is 8 minutes.Ticket per passenger was 15000 Tumans (roughly 4 US$) for both routes.
