1932 directed by Henry McCrae starring Frank Albertson, Ernie Nevers, Cecilia Parker and Caryl Lincoln. Early Universal serial directed by Canadian film pioneer, Henry Macrae, concerns a stolen train, gold and two college students who battle the bad guys. From a story by Arthur Conan Doyle. The serial changes the location from England to the American West and does not include the character of Sherlock Holmes. The director, who went on to produce many serials, is considered a film pioneer.
