Sam has a Diploma of Theatre Arts from the GOTAFE Regional Academy of Dramatic Art (GRADA) and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Drama at Deakin University. This training gave Sam the opportunity to perform such roles as Marcus in Titus Andronicus (Deakin,) Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Macduff in Macbeth, Troy in Hotel Sorrento, Sandy in On Our Selection and Don in Don's Party (GRADA.) At Deakin, Sam was also involved in devising and performing a four man comedy show entitled Four Four.
In 2018, Sam undertook the Victorian Drama League's Theatrecraft Youth Unlimited summer camp, playing various characters in a show called The Places You'll Go at the end of the 10 day intensive period.
In 2017, Sam played the lead role in the short film, Mr. Joe. Directed by Jared Hargreaves (no relation,) the film won the 2017 Focus on Ability Film Festival.
Sam made his opera debut in 2016 in the chorus of the Australian International Opera Company's production of The Magic Flute which toured China in October and November of that year.
In addition to this, Sam is a railway enthusiast and likes to share videos he has filmed at heritage railways on this platform. He is a volunteer at the Mornington Railway.
