ObozFootwear
@ObozFootwear
True to the Trail.
Company Overview
Part of the reason that we started Oboz was so that we could wake up in the morning and not dread going to the office. It’s important to us to work hard, sometimes really hard, but to do so in a pleasant environment with coworkers that understand that a foot of powder overnight simply demands a few morning laps. We enjoy getting to know our customers to the point where we can congratulate them on their daughter getting into her dream school or ask how their bike race went over the weekend. We like working at Oboz and hope that it shows in the quality of our shoes.
The Oboz crew is made up of a couple of old school tele skiers, a kayaker who can claim first descent down the Ocoee, a former NOLS instructor that’s familiar with going weeks on end without bathing, and an obsessed climber turned avid biker. This odd bunch managed to connect throughout the decades of being in the outdoor industry and decided to join up in 2007 to start Oboz.
Combine the words “outside” and Bozeman” and you’ve got “Oboz.” Moreover, you’ve got something that speaks volumes about us and our priorities. Outside is where our heads are, dreaming of the next peak to climb or river to float. And Bozeman, Montana is where we live, play and of course, work on making Oboz the best shoes out there. Bozeman is one of the great places to enjoy and be inspired by the outdoors. We’re at the northern edge of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. You’ll find some 18 million acres of the wildest land in North America just outside of town, with mountain ranges like the Absarokas and Tetons, wildlife like grizzly bears, wolves and elk, plus some of the greatest places to hike, run, climb and fish. For us, Oboz is not just two words combined, but a way of thinking, living and doing that defines our company, our shoes and the people who wear them.
